The Teal Pumpkin Project

As most of you know, Raylan was diagnosed with a severe life threatening nut allergy back in April. You can read more about his nut allergy here. Trick or Treat is almost here and I encourage you to take part in The Teal Pumpkin Project.

The Teal Pumpkin should be placed at homes and businesses to make Halloween a little less scary for parents of food allergy kids like myself. This pumpkin lets parents know that you offer non-food treats for food allergy kids. Please place a teal pumpkin out at your home. Halloween should be safe and fun for all kids. To learn more about The Teal Pumpkin Project please click here. Also click here to download your sign to place on your door to let parents know that you are taking part in the Teal Pumpkin Project.

Here are so examples of some non-food treats that can be given in place of candy:

  • stickers
  • stencils
  • coloring or comic books
  • glow sticks
  • bracelets
  • necklaces
  • stamps
  • playing cards
  • bubbles
  • yo-yo's
  • Pencils, Pens, Crayons or Markers
  • slinkies
  • whistles
  • vampire fangs
  • bouncy balls
  • spinning tops
  • erasers
  • paper pads
  • play dough
  • wax lips
  • plastic spiders or plastic rings
  • silly putty
  • slime
  • Disguise glasses
  • kazoos

Please help make Halloween safe and fun this year and for years to come!
