High Five For Friday

Welcome to the High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif, KatieCaitlin and myself. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Friday is finally here. Shew this has been a long busy week. I'm glad to see the weekend because that means it's party time. We are having Raylan's first birthday party this weekend and we are so excited!

This week's featured bloggers are B and M from The Sequin Notebook. They have such an amazing blog that I absolutely love. They are all about glamour and glitter. They love crafting and are awesome cake pop makers. Their cake pops are so beautiful. You definitely need to check out their blog. It is so much fun to read.

My top 5 for Friday are:

1) Raylan turned 1 last Friday. I can't believe my baby is already 1. This year has flown by way too fast. My friend put together this little collage of him for me and I absolutely love it :)

2) Sunday we didn't have church due to the bad weather.  I hate when we don't have church :( Anyway we had a much needed day of relaxation. We didn't go anywhere. I cooked and we watched Season 1 of The Walking Dead on Netflix.

3) I've been pretty busy with cake orders for the last couple of weeks but hey I'm not complaining. I'm thanking God for the business that I have been getting. God is so good.

4) I attempted to take Raylan's 1 year photos at home. Mind you Justin was at work and I had to do all of this on my own. I had to set up my background and then keep him occupied while trying to take the picture lol.

I don't think I did too bad considering the circumstances. I made the cake too!

5) I have ran myself ragged this week trying to get last minute things for his party. I am finally finished and we are ready to PARTY!

Well that's it for now. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

High Five For Friday

Welcome to the High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif, Katie, Caitlin and myself. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Can you believe it's Friday already? I sure can't. This week has flown by. Even though we've had a foot of snow and have been stuck inside, it's been a fabulous week.

This week's featured blogger is Jayme from Simply, Always, Forever. Jayme is married to her middle school sweetheart. She is a teacher who loves coffee and loves to read. She has a great blog and has a lot of funnies on it that just make my day. Definitely check her blog out.

Now here are my top favorites from this week.

1) I had an amazing Valentine's Day. The hubby got me a sweet card that had just the right words that I needed to hear. He also took me out to dinner and a surprise shopping trip. I got lots of goodies!

2) It was Raylan's first Valentine's Day so we had to do a little in home photo shoot.

He is my little Valentine

3) My mother in law got Justin and I a 365 day love devotional for Valentine's Day. It has bible verses and love quotes to remind us to love and be kind to one another. I love it!

4) I received some awesome Target goodies in the mail that I had ordered. I'm in love! I seriously love Target!!!

5) Raylan had his first experience with a big snow. At first he didn't like it but then he grew to love it. We had so much fun! He wanted to eat the snow lol

I hope you all have a great and safe weekend. Try to stay warm!

Brow Drama

I have thin eyebrows and have always needed something to give them a little extra pop. Everything that I have tried just hasn't worked for me. Most all eyebrow products including eyebrow pencils just look terrible on me once applied. They always make my brows look way too dark and not realistic at all. So after seeing several commercials of Maybelline's Brow Drama, I thought what could it hurt, so I decided to give it a try.

It has a wand just like a mascara wand but with a sculpting ball at the end. Brow Drama also has a tinted sculpting gel. It comes in 3 different shades that are Blonde, Soft Brown and Deep Brown. My chosen color is Deep Brown.  It is so comfortable to wear and when you put it on, there are no clumps. I love the fact that it is very affordable. I purchased mine at Walmart for only $6.94.

This is my eyebrows with nothing on them....See how thin they are

Photo was taken after I had Raylan...I still had some baby weight to lose here lol

and this is my eyebrows after using Brow Drama....See the difference

I love Maybelline Brow Drama and how it makes my eyebrows look. It really defines them and brings out my eyes. I feel like it makes my facial features pop out more. What do you think?

What is your favorite eyebrow product to use?

6 Bible Verses Pertaining to Snow

All I have heard this weekend has been the forecast of snow. The news has predicted a huge snow for our area and people are panicking. My Facebook news feed has been flooded with comments about snow. Everyone is worried about power outages and not having enough groceries. God doesn't want us to fear. He will surely take care of his children.
I think snow is a reminder of God's goodness and his pureness. He has washed away our sins and made them white as snow. Snow can serve as a reminder of the word of God. I believe God gives us snow to remind us of what his son did for our sins. I also believe it is  for us to slow down and take time to focus on him and the things that are important. We live in a fast paced world and too often we put God on the back burner. Here is what the bible says about snow.

He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.  Psalm 147:16

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  Isaiah 1:18

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.   Job 37:6

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.   Proverbs 31:21

Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,   Job  38:22

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.   Psalm 51:7

High Five For Friday!

Hooray! Friday is here again! That means I get an extra day with my hubby this weekend. Not to mention, it is also Valentine's weekend. This has been a fantastic week and I'm so thankful for that. God is so good! Tiffany from Bright on A Budget, Katie from Cup of Tea, Caitlin from Coffee with Caitlin and myself would like to welcome you to High Five For Friday!

This weeks featured blogger is Paige from Reasons to Come Home. Paige and I are a lot alike. We both are followers of Christ, we love DIY projects and all things Christmas. She has a lot of funnies on her page that always brightens my day. I highly recommend that you check her blog out.

Now to my top 5 from this week:

1) Raylan is now trying to walk. He will take about 5 steps then fall down. I can't believe he is growing up so fast. It all seems surreal. Hopefully I can get a good pic soon. I have a video but for some reason I couldn't get it to post. Raylan has also learned to dance. It is so adorable watching him dance to Mickey's Hot Dog Song. He also had another tooth come through which makes a total of 12 teeth.

2) I had a good little trip to Hobby Lobby on Monday. I bought some cake decorating supplies, deco mesh for my wreaths and I found this primitive ledge that I have been looking for forever.

Now to decide what to put on my ledge...decisions decisions

3) I finally ordered me some new clothes. It has been way too long since I bought myself clothes. So I now have a couple of new spring outfits. I also  ordered a new pair of Bobs  made by Sketchers. I love Bob's because when you buy a pair of them, a pair is  also donated to someone in need.

4)  I had Raylan a Mickey Mouse shirt made for his birthday party by Big Boy Tuck Designs and I am so happy with how it turned out. Big Boy Tuck Designs are awesome. They can make just about anything including personalized Easter Baskets which I'm going to order for Raylan.

5) On one of our snowy days this week, I caught our fur baby Fluffy staring out at the snow and I had to snap a picture. I may be biased but I think she is beautiful.

Well that's a wrap for me. I hope everyone has a fantastic Valentine's weekend. God bless you all!

Valentine Gift Ideas For Baby and Husband

With Valentine's Day coming up in just a few short days, I figured I would share with you some gift ideas that I put together for my husband and son. It's Raylan's 1st Valentine's Day, so naturally I had to get him a little something. After all him and his daddy both own my heart.

Raylan's gift basket

Basket includes:
-Fruit pouch (You're my main squeeze Printable for pouch found here)
-Colors and Numbers bath books
-Stuffed Frog (I chose green because babies love bright colors)
-Gerber Graduate Puffs
-Baby's 1st Valentine's Day Card

As for Justin, I went with some of his favorite sweets and put together a basket for him as well.

You can find these neat printables here for all these different sweets

I just assembled them all together in a basket and put in a sweet heart felt card. What better way to a man's heart than his stomach lol.

Hopefully Justin and Raylan both like their gifts. It wasn't nothing extravagant but it was thoughtful and from the heart.

What gifts for Valentine's Day do you have in mind? Are you doing any DIY gifts?

Now time to review my favorite things from the week.

1) On Saturday, Justin and I went out with several of our friends to help celebrate one of my best friends birthday. We went to Texas Roadhouse and just had an all around good time. It was nice to be able to get out and relax a little.

2) Sunday was Super Bowl. I love Super Bowl. It's a time to make memories with my little family and friends, not to mention, great food!

3) On Tuesday, Raylan got his first haircut. He did so well. He sat still. He didn't cry. I'm so proud of my baby boy. I can't believe he is growing up so fast.

4) While I was out the other day looking for birthday party supplies, I found this super cute Saint Patrick's Day scarf that I just had to have. I can't wait to wear it.

5) Raylan is now dancing. It is so adorable. We were listening to music yesterday and he started dancing. It was the cutest thing ever. I love my baby boy so much!

Faux Wrap Floral Print Dress

During the month of December, I was contacted by Eshakti.com to work on a collaboration with them. I'm happy to say I love the results. EShakti is an online women's clothing store that has many fabulous clothing choices. There is at least something there for every woman. What I love most about eShakti, is the option to customize your clothing. You can put in your exact measurements to get the perfect fit.

As someone with a big bust, it is sometimes hard to find the right size shirt or dress. I have also not lost all of my baby weight from my pregnancy so my clothing choices are scarce these days.  So I was really excited to be able to customize my dress of choice. It felt nice to be able to do that instead of having to try everything on like I normally have to do.

Ordering from Eshakti was such an easy and simple process. I decided to go with this dress. It's a cotton sateen dress with a banded waist. It also has a draped cross over skirt. I'm in love with the fit and it hides my stomach for the most part which I love.

If you would like to make a purchase from Eshakti and you're new to their website, sign up on their homepage  for a $30 gift coupon!
* Please note: This discount code is not applicable on clearance / sale, gift cards & overstock categories, or on previous purchases.

Dress: Eshakti on sale for $41.95 (org $74.05)
Shoes : Old (Shoe Show)

Thank you to my wonderful husband for being my photographer!

I was provided with this dress by eShakti in exchange for a review, but all opinions are my own.

Jesus Calling ( A Bible Storybook Review)

Ever since I was a baby, my mom always taught me about Jesus. She took me to Church every Sunday Morning and Thursday night. To my mom, you had to be really sick in order to miss church. In her eyes, there was no excuse to miss church other than being sick.  She read the bible to me and so many different children's bible storybooks. She instilled in me about the importance of knowing Jesus and salvation.

My mom always told me that when I had children of my own, to make sure to take them to church and tell them about Jesus. She quoted Proverbs 22:6 many times -Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. My mother did such an excellent job teaching me about Jesus. I can only hope to do the same for Raylan.

I take Raylan to church but I don't get to go as often as I would like. He is so easy to get sick. But when we can't go to church, I make sure to stick to our daily routine of praying over our meals and telling him about Jesus. We read every night. We read a bedtime story as well as a bible story. We have currently been reading Jesus Calling - A Bible Storybook by Sarah Young. This is by far one of the best children's bible story books that I have ever come across. Sarah breaks it down to a child's level and simplifies it. I love reading it to Raylan. He enjoys my reading to him as well as looking at all of the pictures. This is a storybook that I recommend anyone to purchase. Your child will learn so much about Jesus and you will learn a lot from it yourself. I know I certainly have learned far more from reading it. There are a lot of things in the bible that are hard for me to understand. After reading Jesus Calling, I feel like I am more knowledgeable with the bible.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Isaiah 54:13  And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Psalms 34:11 -  Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Proverbs 3:1 - My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Proverbs 1:8- My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Teach your children about Jesus. It's the best gift that you can ever give them. What bible storybooks do your currently read to your child?
