High Five For Friday

Welcome to the High Five For Friday Link-up! I'm so glad you're here! I hope everyone has had a great week.

Each week, H54F will feature a blogger who has linked up from the week before. This week's featured blogger is Becky @ BYBMG. Becky is a teacher and a Jamberry Consultant who blogs about anything from fashion to crafts. I really love her What I Wore Wednesday posts. She has some really beautiful outfits. Her blog is a must read.

As for me, this week has seemed to just drag by. I guess it's this crazy weather. One day it's 50 degrees and the next day it's snowing. That's Kentucky Weather for you. However, it has still been a good week. Anyway let's get to my top 5 favorites from this past week.

1) Raylan can now make choices. He can point to which object that he wants. He is growing up so fast.

2) On Sunday, Raylan received his first certificate award from church for participating in the church Christmas play. He also received a $5 Walmart gift card. I'm so proud of our baby boy.

I already had it framed and it's now placed on the wall.

3) I made this amazing 10 layer Nacho Dip. It was so good. Thank you so much Whitney @ Polka Dotty Place for the recipe. I'm definitely making it again for the Super Bowl this weekend.

You can click here for the recipe

4) I scored this adorable magazine holder and organizer at the local dollar store.

I didn't use the magazine holder for magazine's though, I used it to hold all of my hair styling tools

and then I used the small organizer to hold all of my makeup and accessories

I've been on an organizing kick lately so these were must haves.

5) Raylan is teething bad. He has two top teeth and one bottom tooth all coming in at the same time. It's been rough to say the least. I can't imagine how hard that has to be on a baby. It's hard on mommy too lol.

If you have time, can you please pray for my aunt Janet. She is very sick with cancer and is in desperate need of a miracle. I know that with God all things are possible. Also pray for my dad, he has been so sick lately.

Well that's a wrap for me. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. What are your Super Bowl plans? Are you fixing any good Super Bowl snacks?

DIY Valentine's Centerpiece and Free Printable

Valentine's Day is right around the corner so that means decorations galore! I'm a sucker for decorating around the holidays. I just love my home looking festive for every occasion. I was going through some of my leftover decorations and found some things to put together a Valentine's Centerpiece, so  I thought I would share it with you. It's so cheap and easy to make and I think it's adorable.

You will need:

A small piece of styrofoam

Some roses or any type of flower. Make sure to cut most of the stem off so that you will mostly have just the flower to place into the Styrofoam.

Glitter table scatter hearts from the Dollar Tree

You will also need a hot glue gun to glue the hearts on.

End Result...

Not too shabby and it certainly is a lot cheaper than any centerpiece that you can buy. I think it screams Valentine's Day!

I have also been on a printable kick lately. I love how printables look and I think they add character to your home decor, so I decided to create a free printable to share with you.

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than by putting God first with this beautiful bible verse. God is the true meaning of love!

You can download your free printable here

Do you have any Valentine's Decor that you are working on?

Praise Report

I have a Praise Report to share. I just want to say how good God is!

My dad has been in Kidney Failure for a few years due to his diabetes. When he went for his check-up in November, the kidney specialist told us that my dad's kidneys were only functioning 16%. He told us that more than likely my dad would have to go on Dialysis. I asked him if there was anything that my dad could do to maybe improve his kidneys. He said that If he followed a strict diet that it could possibly help some.

Well after that appointment, my dad made the decision to quit soda pop and started to eat more healthy. I put him on several prayer chains and had many people praying for him.

On Friday, my dad went back for another check-up. I'm thrilled to say that his kidneys have improved by 6%. Now they are functioning at 22%. Not only has his kidneys improved some, but his liver has as well. God is so good! The doctor said they have improved some but not  by much. He said 6% isn't much. I told him, if God can improve it by 6%, then he can certainly heal my dad if it's his will. To me, 6% is quite a bit and it certainly buys him some more time from dialysis. God is the almighty physician. There is nothing too big or small for him. Some of the doctors don't want to acknowledge the fact that it was God doing this, but I know it was. Things like this just don't happen without God being a part of it. I know that my dad could still go on dialysis at anytime, but I also know that God can completely heal him if it's his will.

So for what he has done, I will forever be grateful and I will give him Praise!!!

Psalms 35:18- I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

Psalms 92:1- It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

Psalms 100:4- Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

1 Thessalonians 5:18- In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

No Bake Reese Cup Bars

I have had a love for Reese Cups for years, well more like forever. It's my all time favorite candy bar. I could eat them everyday, however that wouldn't be a good thing. I'm sure my health and my waist would not appreciate that. Anyway, I have a recipe that is so simple and quick to make. Whenever you are craving something sweet, this is the perfect fix for that sweet tooth. I present to you, No Bake Reese Cup Bars....

Pay no mind to my bad cutting skills...It still tastes delicious.

What you will need:
1/2 cup of butter, melted
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup + 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
1) Spray pam or baker's joy into an 8x8 or 9x9 square pan

2) In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar together until combined. Stir in 3/4 cup of peanut butter. Spread into baking pan.

3) In a small bowl, microwave 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter along with the chocolate chips until melted. Stir until smooth. Spread over peanut butter layer.

4) Chill until completely firm, at least an hour. Allow to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before cutting.

See it really is so simple to make. This is a great weekend or anytime snack that everyone is sure to love.

What are some of your favorite quick and easy desserts?

High Five For Friday!

Hello again Friday! You are finally here. It seems like this week has been a little rough, I guess because Raylan has been sick.  Welcome everyone to the High Five For Friday link-up! If you are new to the blog or to the link-up you can read about it here.

Each week, H54F will feature a blogger who has linked up from the week before. This week's featured blogger is Kate @ Green Fashionista.  She blogs about fashion and traveling while trying to encourage others to make the environment more green. She has a great blog that you definitely need to check out.

Here are my top 5 favorites from the last week.

1) Before Raylan came down sick, Justin and I were able to go to dinner and a movie. We watched American Sniper. Words can't express how great of a movie this was. It is a must see for everyone. It is now one of my all time favorites.

2) Raylan turned 11 months old. I can't believe our baby will be a year old in now less than a month :(
You could tell he wasn't feeling well in this picture because he wasn't smiling. He is normally such a happy baby.

3) I've been on pinterest a lot lately and I have found quite a few new crafts that I want to try.

4) I saw this shirt on instagram and I'm in love. I'm defintely buying it!
$24.99 at Abby and Grace

5) I finally have a date set for Raylan's birthday party. I'm getting excited for all of the planning but at the same time a little overwhelmed.

Well that's a wrap for me! Cheers to a better weekend! I hope everyone has a great weekend! God bless you!

Prayers Please

For those of you who pray, will you please pray for my family and myself. There is so much sickness going on and some other things that I would rather not go into detail about. My dad is really sick, my aunt's cancer has came back and spread and Raylan is sick right now. Also pray for my husband Justin, he really needs your prayers. I am stressed to the max!!!  I know that with God all things are possible. He said he would never leave us or forsake us. He also said in Matthew 18:20-For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Thank you for being such a great blogging community. I have loved getting to know and become friends with many of you. I'm thankful for each and everyone of you.

When your faith is weak!

Have you ever been down on your faith? I know I sure have. We try to be strong but there are just some days that we just can't be. Sometimes you feel weak spiritually. And when you do, you probably feel like you’re the only one. I'm here to tell you that you're not the only one.  Every Christian experiences times of weakness. Due to some things going on in my life, I've found it hard to have faith lately. Afterall, I am only human. There will be days like this. We aren't perfect actually we are far from it.

If you’re like me, you don’t like feeling weak in your faith. And you don’t have to! Weakness doesn’t have to be the new normal! God has the power to strengthen you.

The good news is that no matter how weak your faith is, God has the power to strengthen you. Here are some verses that we can all use when we are going through weak times.

Mark 9:24- And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Luke 22:31-32 - And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Romans 10:17- So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 6:35- And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Hebrews 13:5-6 -  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

2 Corinthians 4:17-  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 -  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13- Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Psalm 50:15- And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

I hope these have been of some help to you. We all need to be reminded that God is here for us. We may not see him or feel him at certain times in our life, but rest assured he is still there.

High Five For Friday

Welcome Everyone to the High Five for Friday Link-up - hosted by Katie, Caitlin, Tif and me! If you want to know more about what H54F is and how we became the new hostesses you can read about it here.

First I would like to Congratulate Becky @ BYBMG for winning the $100 Target gift card . Thank you to all who linked up with us last week. It was so much fun reading all of your posts and getting to say hello!

Each week, H54F will feature a blogger who has linked up from the week before. This week's featured blogger is Amanda from Kids and Cabernet. Amanda is a SAHM who blogs about her" favorite wine, mommyhood, fashion, recipes, decorating [her family's] home and anything that comes to mind." Last week's H54F post featured a fabulous Kate Spade watch which is now one of my must haves. She also posted a fabulous OOTD that she wore.

*Friday is here once again. I can't complain though. This has been a great week. It has actually been relaxing and not nearly as stressful as some of the recent weeks I have had. Anyway let's rewind to my last week.

1) This has been a week for birthdays. Several of my friends have had birthdays. So, I have been in baking and crafting overload working on birthday gifts. But I don't mind. I really do enjoy it. Here is a primitive wreath that I made for one of my friends.

2) Birthday party planning is well underway for Raylan's party. I have ordered some really cute Mickey Mouse things from my cousin Audrey @ Bows and Bowties, She is so creative and does an amazing job. There isn't anything that she can't make. I'm so excited to see how they all turn out.

3) On Wednesday, Justin had a few things that he had to take care of, so he didn't get to work. Therefore, Raylan and I tagged along with him. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings which is one of my favorite restaurants. Raylan was a big boy and colored some, what time he wasn't trying to eat the crayons lol. It was so nice to have a family day out. That's a rare occasion considering Justin's work schedule.

4) Our Relay for Life team has officially kicked off again. Every year around January, we start fundraising again. Relay for life is a must do for me. I do it in memory of my sweet mom who passed away from Ovarian Cancer and in honor of my dad who had colon cancer. I also do it for everyone else who has lost someone they love and for those who are fighting this horrible disease. You can read more about what Relay for Life is here . You can also learn more about my relay for life team here. Relay for life is something everyone should take part in.

5) I have had the chance to catch up on my reading this week.  I love love love to read. I just don't get much time to do so with a little one. This is what I am currently reading.

If you haven't read any of the Mary Campisi books, then you certainly must. I love the Family Affair series.

Well that's it for now. I hope everyone has a good and safe weekend. God bless you!

Lovely Blog Award

It's Hump Day!

Yay! We are halfway through the week. It has been such a busy week but Friday is almost here! Hooray! I know it seems like I am wishing my life away, honestly I'm not! It's just that I have had so much going on lately so the weeks seem so long.

Anyway, I have some exciting news! Caitlin@ Coffee With Caitlin nominated me for the Lovely Blog Award. What exactly is it?

Well, I will share 7 facts about myself, and then tag 7 more wonderful bloggers to keep the award going. Sounds interesting doesn't it?

Ok, here it goes!

1) I'm a Days of Our Lives addict. I have watched it for years. Everyday around 1pm I'm glued to the TV. It's my me time! As crazy as the show gets, I just have to keep watching it lol.

2) Cake Decorating and making crafts is my passion. As crazy as it seems, it actually does relax me. I would love to learn how to sew and crochet as well. Although, I don't think I have the patience for it.

3) I love to  curl up with a good book. Although, I don't get to do that much since I have had Raylan. One of my new years resolutions is to read more.

4) I  have an old soul. I tend to enjoy the more simple things in life. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

5) I'm a lover of coffee. If I don't have it, my day just does not go right. Coffee makes me very happy!

The meme says it all lol

6) I have always wanted to travel the world or at least all of the US. I didn't get to travel much growing up because my mom was very sick. One of the things on my bucket list is to visit all of the states. I hope I get to accomplish this.

7) I have OCD. I cannot go to sleep until I have tidied up the house especially my kitchen. I have to do my dishes every single night.

I'm Nominating (if they'd like to participate!):

Tif@Bright On A Budget
Katie@Cup Of Tea

Trust in the Lord

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of my favorite bible verses. It's my go to verse when I need reassurance. Lately that's been happening quite a bit. Seems like so much has been going on lately. Not only with me, but with everyone.
There is so much sickness and tragic events taking place. There are many people who have lost their jobs and those who are living in constant fear of losing theirs.
Life is a constant whirlwind and there are so many things that I'm so uncertain about. But the one thing I am certain about is God and his love for us. His love never fails. He said he would never leave us nor forsake is. No matter what we go through in life, he is and always will be there for us.
So while we may not understand why all of these bad things are happening, we must trust in the Lord. If we leaned on our own understanding we would be in a world of hurt. God knows what is best for us. He sees the big picture! We need to give him praise when things are going good and also praise during the storms in life. We may not understand this path that God is taking us down but God knows it's the best path for us. There is a reason for everything. He will make our crooked paths straight.

4) I stumbled upon a delicious Homemade French Vanilla Coffee Creamer that you must try. Once you try it, you will never buy store bought creamer again.

5) This has certainly been Raylan's week for milestones. He has learned to stand for a while without holding onto something.

He has also learned to raise his hand if you tell him to Praise The Lord! He is a true baptist lol.

My heart is so full of joy right now. My cup runneth over! I love my baby boy so much. He makes mommy proud.

Well that's a wrap for my week. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. God Bless you!

Homemade French Vanilla Coffee Creamer

Like myself, most moms that I know need coffee. It's a must have to get through the day. I have had a love for coffee for many years. To me, the coffee creamer is what makes the coffee and good coffee is a pleasure. I have stumbled upon a delicious homemade French Vanilla Coffee Creamer. Once you try it, you will never want to buy coffee creamer again.

It's so simple to make...

Start with:
  • 14oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 3/4 Cup Milk or Cream
*If you want really creamy creamer, use heavy cream instead of milk

Then add
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract OR Vanilla coffee syrup

Directions:
  • Bring all ingredients to a boil. Boil for about 5 minutes and that's it. Let cool and enjoy. I stored mine in a mason jar so that it would have a tight seal and last for a while.

See it's so easy to make and it's oh so good! The best part is most of these items you already have at home so it's very inexpensive to make. It's delicious and wallet friendly. It's a win in my book!

Do you have any homemade coffee creamer recipes that you would like to share?

Top 7 Bible Verses For The New Year

The New Year is here! With the New Year, comes many plans and resolutions that people make. Most of the time by mid February those plans are out the Window. We get discouraged and give up. Here are some bible verses to keep our faith in check and remind us to not give up.

  1. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phillipians 4:13
  2. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.  Proverbs 19:21
  3. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
  4. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. Psalms 20:4
  5. Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; 1 Chronicals 16:11-12
  6. Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. Chronicals 16:8
  7. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

God has plans for our lives. He has plans to help us and for us to prosper. Let's have faith that God has amazing plans for us, not only the new year, but for the rest of our lives. When things aren't going right and we get discouraged, remember God is there for us. He Won't leave us or forsake us.

High Five For Friday!

Wow how quickly time has flown by. I can't believe Christmas and New Year has already passed. It's been a relaxing week and for that I am so thankful. I needed the much needed break after all of the Christmas festivities. Anyways let's recap.

1. This was by far the best Christmas that I have ever had all because of this little guy

He had a blast on Christmas. He enjoyed the wrapping paper and boxes more than he did his gifts lol.

2) I received some pretty awesome cake decorating tools for Christmas.  I am so excited! I loved all of my gifts and I am so thankful for them but cake decorating is my passion.

3) Some pretty exciting things are happening with the blog and I couldn't me more happier.

4) This was such a relaxing New Year. My little family just stayed home, rented a movie and I cooked. We didn't go anywhere but sometimes those are the best holidays.

5) I have went into major birthday planning mode, I still can't believe I have an almost 1 year old.

I hope everyone has a great and safe weekend. I'm linking up with The Lauren ElizabethThe Diary of a Real Housewife and Garay Treasures
