10 Ways to Relieve Stress

Have you ever had one of those no good for nothing, dirty rotten days? One of those days were nothing seems to go right and you are stressed to the MAX. I know I sure have. You feel like your whole world is coming to an end and nothing will ever get better. I tend to have these days quite often but I have learned how to nip my stress in the bud.  Here are 10 simple ways that will help relieve your stress and bring about a much happier you.

1) PRAY! I can't stress this enough. A little talk with Jesus makes everything better. It eases your mind and you can see things more clearly. It is an instant stress reliever. It can calm you, give you peace and hope. It can also restore confidence.

2) A good cup of coffee. It relaxes you and calms you down. It makes you feel happier. Even the smell of it can decrease stress.

3) Go for a walk. Walking is always so helpful. It is so relaxing. It is proven to reduce depression and anxiety and it lowers blood pressure. Whenever I walk, it always improves my mood.

4) Do something you love! Mine would be baking. Baking always makes me happy :)

5) Call a friend. DON'T TEXT! Call and actually talk to someone. You will be surprised what a good conversation with a good friend will do for you.

6) Listen to music. Music has always been my therapy. I love love love music.

7) Go for a drive. There is something about an open road that is good for the soul.

8) Read a book. The Bible is a great book to read. It will certainly direct you in the right path. I love to read many other books as well.

9) Take a nap. A body always needs rest. If you are constantly on the go, it is bad for your health. You have to take time to rest or your health will start declining.

10) Pamper yourself. Get your hair or makeup done or go shopping so long as your treat yourself. You have to make time for yourself.

When I get stressed out, I try to do some of these on the list if not all of them. Used to, I would just let the stress consume me. I started seeing some negative effects on my health. I knew I had to make a change and start taking time for myself.

I hope these tips help you the same way they have me. I am a much happier person since I have put these tips to practice.

High Five For Friday

Welcome to the High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif, KatieCaitlin and myself. I hope you enjoy your stay.

This week's featured blogger is Anne from Anne in  Residence. She is a wife to a doctor in residency, mom and a work from home editor. She has some pretty awesome blog posts including this recent chalkboard coffee table that I absolutely love. Her blog is a must read.

Yay! We made it! Friday is finally here. Shew what a relief! This last week has been a rough one. I'm hoping the weekend is much better.

Let's get to my top 5

1) While this is not at all part of my favorites, it however does involve my dad and my son who are my favorites. I would like to ask you to pray for both of them. On Friday, my dad received the news that he may possibly have to go on Kidney Dialysis. Please pray that God intervenes with his health. On Monday, we learned that Raylan has a Peanut allergy. I have spent the week doing so much research and being cautious. So please say a prayer for them and me too.

2) Over the weekend we got together with some of our friends and their children. We took all the kids to the park and cooked out. The kids had so much fun. Raylan loved the swings but the slide not so much.

3) As of this week, Raylan no longer wants to be fed. He thinks he is a big boy and wants to feed himself. Meal times can get pretty messy lol

4) On Wednesday, Raylan had his second hair cut and I had my makeup done and my hair curled. It was so relaxing which was much needed. Although Raylan's haircut turned him into a WILD child. It really is true what they say, they turn into little mean monsters after the first haircut lol
Doesn't he look like a little man with his haircut?

I love his hair short like this :)

5) Don't forget you still have time to enter our Lilly Pulitzer Giveaway. It ends Saturday (tomorrow) at 12am. You can read full details of the giveaway here.

Spending Time With God

Sometimes we get so caught up in our everyday life that we forget to Spend Time With God. It's so easy to do but sadly it happens quite frequently. Of all the people and things in life, God should be our number one priority. After all he is our creator.
We put God on the back burner until we need him. We pretty much are using God. It's in our time of need when we talk to God the most. If we are going to talk to God and acknowledge him it should be every day not just when things are going wrong. We should praise him when life is going good or bad. He is our best friend and we shouldn't neglect him until we need something.
If we start having a daily talk with God, we will find how much better our day has went. We will see an improvement in our moods and we will be able to handle the stress of daily life better. Notice how I have said we? It's because I too am guilty of not giving God the praise that he deserves. Here are some tips on how to spend quality time with God.

1) Read at least one bible verse a day
2) Read a devotional or Psalm daily
3) Make sure to have some quite time to talk to God. It's hard if you are a parent to have quite time but when the kids are asleep or you are in the shower use this time to pray.
4) Go for a walk
5) Christian music is a great way to spend time with God.
6) When you are enjoying a cup of coffee or tea you can do this. You don't have to say the words out loud. God knows what's inside your heart.
7) Upon waking up, step outside to remind yourself of God's wonderful creations that surround us.
8) Use a journal to write your prayers or thoughts in.
9) Stop and listen to what God is telling you. Quit trying to live so fast paced.
10) Attend church or prayer groups.

Hopefully these tips help us all obtain a better relationship with God. What are some other tips that you can think of?

Toddler Life

Since Raylan has became a toddler many changes have occurred. My sweet baby that I once did everything for has became more independent. It breaks my heart to see him grow up so fast yet it warms my heart at the same time. It is such a joy to see him accomplish new things. Although toddler life is not easy at all, in fact it is quite hard. I mean the tantrums Raylan throws are rough. He is not sleeping good. He used to sleep all night long but now he wakes up several times through out the night. But all in all I love this stage. I'm learning new things from him everyday. We both are growing. Here is what Raylan is up to lately.

He absolutely loves to be outside. He finds the outdoors so intriguing.

He loves the park. His favorite is the swing. The slide not so much.

He doesn't like to be fed anymore. He wants to be a big boy and feed himself. As you can tell, it can get messy fast.

He loves play dates with his friends.

He loves Alphabet and number blocks. He will pick them out one at a time and bring them to me. He wants me to tell him what each one is. Sometimes he will repeat what I have said. He also loves for me to sing the alphabet and numbers to him.

- He enjoys wagon rides
-He is fascinated by all animals
-He is trying to form sentences such as "My Daddy"
- His vocabulary is expanding to bigger words. He can say yellow, mean, baby, bath and ball are just a few.
-He has 13 teeth
-He loves to eat. His favorite snack is cheese puffs.
-Peek a boo and Hide and Seek are his favorite games.
-Bath time is his favorite.
-He loves cars and says vroom vroom all the time.
-He is constantly on the move and never sits still for even 5 minutes.

I love my little toddler and this stage is so much fun. I wouldn't change a thing even if I could. I truly feel like this is the best learning stage.

I would love to hear from you. What is your toddler up to these days?

Prayers Needed

Please put my dad Blaine Setser on your prayer chains. He went to the kidney specialist yesterday  morning and we didn't get the news we were hoping for. He goes back in a month and if nothing hasn't improved then he will have to start dialysis. I know God can heal him. There is nothing to big or small for God. With him all things are possible. Also pray for my son Raylan. He had to have an allergy panel done to see what all he is allergic to.  It's been a very trying few days to say the least.

How I Style It - Colored Pants Party

I am so excited that Spring is finally here. With that being said, it's time for bright clothing.  Today I am linking up with Several wonderful ladies to bring you How I Style It- Colored Pants Party. This linkup came at the perfect time because I had just bought a new pair of colored pants for Spring.

I had to have these Mid-rise Rockstar Skinny Jeans in Pink for Eva. I love that they are a pastel color. Of course I had to wear my Coach Flats with these.

I paired the pants with a green/teal American Eagle V-neck Favorite Tee. I think pastels go with just about everything.

I love this look. It's the perfect outfit for Spring. You can wear it anywhere. It's not too dressy but yet it still looks classy.

This has been a great week. I have gotten a lot accomplished and for that I am so excited. Anyway let's get to my favorites.

1) Justin and I went out for dinner on Saturday and watched Fast and Furious 7. Of course I cried like a baby. Paul Walker was my absolute favorite actor.  It was a great movie but it was so sad.

2) We had an amazing Easter. Justin went to church with Raylan and I. It was so nice to have my little family in church on Easter Sunday. I pray that he starts going more often with us.  After church Raylan hunted "balls" this is what he calls Easter Eggs lol. It's so cute. We had an egg hunt at my dad's and at Justin's parents. By the end of the day he was so exhausted, but he had so much fun. I had the best time watching him hunt for balls

3) I finally received my Spring Walmart Beauty Box and I love it. You can read my review of it here.

4) We had a huge storm yesterday evening. The thunder was so loud it shook our home and we had hail. Thankfully no damage occurred to anyone. I snapped this photo of the clouds right before the storm started. You could tell it was going to be a rough storm.

5) Our house renovations are coming along good. Our Master bath is almost complete. This week we put in a new vanity. I will post pictures when the mess is cleaned up lol.

Spring Walmart Beauty Box Review

I love receiving the Walmart Beauty Box. It is basically free. All you have to pay is $5 for shipping. With the beauty box, you receive 4 boxes per year. One for each season. Each time that I get mine, it feels just like Christmas morning. I get so excited to see what is inside. I finally received my spring beauty box. Want to see what was inside?

1) Dove go fresh revitalize body wash travel sample- I absolutely love this. It comes in a Mandarin scent. It smells just like spring time. I love Dove because it always makes my skin feel so soft.

2) Lady Gaga Fame Perfume Sample- I already had some of this that my husband bought me for Christmas. I really like the scent. I'm glad I received a sample so that I can carry it in my purse.

3) Schwarzkopf Omega Repair and Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner- I had never tried this before until now. I was really impressed. I love the smell of it and I love how it makes my hair feel. I will probably be purchasing this in the near future.

4) Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters Facial Cleanser- This product is a must have. It's doesn't dry your skin out like most facial cleansers do. I highly recommend purchasing this product.

5) Maybelline Lash Accelerator- This is by far the best mascara that I have ever used. I can definitely tell a big difference in my lashes. I have really short lashes and with this, I actually look like I have lashes. I also like that this mascara doesn't feel heavy or clumpy on my lashes.

Also included in the beauty box were several coupons for other beauty products.

I love this beauty box! It has been my favorite so far. Now I can't wait until I receive my summer beauty box.

Click here to sign up for your beauty box today!

I promise it's not a waste of money. Besides, what beauty products can you actually buy for $5 or less?

What not to say to a Stay at Home Mom!

Why is it that Stay at Home Moms are frowned upon? We are talked to and about as if we are nothing. People assume that we do nothing all day and that's far from the truth. It's in fact the exact opposite. The way I see it is that Everybody does what's best for them and their family and I get that. I know there are many moms who would rather be home with their children but have to work. I admire and respect  the working mom so much. I couldn't do all that you do all day and come home and never sit down. Being a mom is a 24/7 job whether you work or stay home. I did What was best for my family and that was for me to stay home with our son. There were so many reasons why I chose to stay home with our son and I will never regret that. I have enjoyed every minute of it. We have made so many memories and have had such a wonderful time.
Anyway I put together a list of things you should never say to a Stay at Home Mom.

1) Do you ever get bored?
umm No- With a toddler that is constantly on the go 24/7 there is no time for boredom.

2) What do you do all day?
-There is not enough room to name what all that I actually do. Chef, nurse, teacher, maid and taxi are just a few.

3) You should go back to work so you will have something to do!
-Excuse me! I have plenty enough to do. Actually there aren't enough hours in the day to get done what is needed to get done.

4) Why didn't you get this or that done?
-Well let's see. Sometimes when you have a screaming baby all day or a sick baby it's hard to get to take a shower let alone anything else.

5) It must be nice to get to stay home all the time!
- It is nice but it is most certainly not easy.

6) Do you ever wish you had your own money?
- This has never been an issue with my husband and I. We have always thought of the money as ours.

7) You are so lucky that your husband let you stay home.
- Excuse me! My husband didn't let me stay home. We both agreed that it was best if I stayed home with our son.

8) Since you stay home all the time, your house should be spotless.
- It is impossible to keep a clean house with a toddler who loves to dump all of their toys out in the floor a million times a day.

People can really be so cruel. Don't belittle someone just because they make different choices than you do. It's not our place to judge others. We should lift each other up and encourage one another instead of trying to tear someone down. Stay at home moms should be respected more. It's a never ending job. We barely get credit for anything that we do. I have had some negative people in my life lately that have judged me and looked down on me for being a stay at home mom so I had to vent a little.

This week's featured blogger is Sarah @ Coffee and Glitter. She is a teacher who loves coffee, cooking and shopping. She has a pretty great blog. I love her recent blog post of Easter Inspiration. I especially love the Easter themed Centerpiece. It's so beautiful! You definitely need to take time to visit Sarah's blog.

It has been such a busy week but I won't complain. Let's get right to my favorites from this past week.

1) My friend and I took our children to see the Easter Bunny. This is how that went...
We took a picture of them together although Raylan wasn't cooperating. Trey was looking at Raylan like what is wrong with you lol.

However we did manage to get a few good ones of Raylan looking without screaming lol. Ahh these are fun memories to treasure.

2) It's been a busy week with house updates. The house is a wreck but we are making progress :) We also bought a new loveseat and sofa. I love it!

3) I finally managed to get my hair done. It felt so good to be pampered. I decided to go a bit lighter for Spring. I'm loving the different shades!

4) Raylan and I have been working on some Easter projects this week. With every Holiday, I try to do some crafts with him. This is one that we just finished up.

I used his little handprint to make the design.

5) We are so excited for Easter. I love Easter and what it represents. Thank you Jesus for saving my soul! I'm also excited that Raylan is old enough to hunt for Easter eggs. It will be so much fun!

Have a safe and Happy Easter! I can't wait to see everyone's Easter photos!
