High Five For Friday

Hello and Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday Link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie@ Cup of TeaCaitlin @ Coffee with Caitlin and myself. Make yourself right at home and please be sure to enjoy your stay.

This week's featured blogger is Ashley @ Life On The Parsons Farm. Ashley is a High School Health and PE Teacher. Her husband is also a teacher. They also have a beautiful daughter named Ellie. She blogs about life on their farm and about toddlers. She has a really neat blog. Definitely stop by and say hi!

This week has been such a busy but fun week. Other than being sick, it has been one of the best weeks that I have had in a while. Let's rewind...

1) Friday was my 10 year high school reunion. What?! Say that again! I honestly cannot believe I have been out of school that long. Where does the time go? I had such a wonderful time catching up with my old classmates. I wish we didn't have to wait another 10 years.

Yes that's Tif from Bright On A Budget. As you can tell, we have been friends for a long time.

2) Speaking of Tif, We got our boys together for their first movie. We watched Minions. I was so nervous at first thinking Raylan wouldn't do well, but surprisingly they both did so good. We all had so much fun.

Raylan looked like a big boy lounging all back in his chair

3) Another Pallet project got completed this week. What we have here is a pallet chair for our porch. I love it!

4) This week I celebrated my first blogging anniversary. What a great year it has been! With the help of some great blogging friends we have teamed up for a $60 Target giveaway in honor of my anniversary. Don't forget to enter here.

5) Today is a big day. Please say a prayer that my dad gets great news at the Kidney Specialist. We are praying so hard that he doesn't have to go on Dialysis. With God all things are possible! I also am taking my Praxis Exam for the teaching program so please whisper a prayer that I do well.

Well that's a wrap. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. May God Bless You Always!

Della Devoted's 1st Anniversary Celebration and Giveaway

Wow! I can't believe I'm celebrating my very first blogging Anniversary. This has been such a wonderful year. Before starting this blog, I toyed with the idea of a blog for quite sometime. I was so nervous and scared. I really had no clue on how to start a blog. I knew what I wanted to write about but still that didn't calm my nerves. I almost talked myself out of it, but with the help of my wonderful friend Tif @ Bright On A Budget I pressed on and I am so thankful that I did.
Blogging has been such a wonderful adventure. It has been an escape for me. At first it was a way to showcase my thoughts and ideas to others, but then it turned into so much more. I have done collaborations and made lifetime friends. The blogging community is such a wonderful place. I love all of my readers and I enjoy reading everyone's blogs as well. So with that being said, I want to give back to my wonderful blog family.

Today I have teamed up with several other bloggers in honor of my  very first blogging anniversary to bring you a giveaway for a $60 Target gift card. One lucky winner will be selected to win this gift, courtesy of the lovely bloggers you are about to follow and meet below.  All you have to do is complete the entries in the Rafflecopter box below. The more entries you do, the more your chances are of winning.  This giveaway is open to US residents only. Please follow all the entries as these will be checked for winner verification. What to Grab When You Leave Your Makeup Behind - Guest Post

Recently I have done a few posts about What's Inside my Makeup Bag, so today we have a guest post. Today's guest blogger is Tif from Bright on a Budget. She's one of my co-hosts for High Five for Friday and a long-time friend in real life. She is blogging about What to Grab When You Leave Your Makeup Behind.  Make sure you visit Tif's blog and say hi!

There's no worse feeling than traveling for a trip and realizing that you left your makeup sitting on your bathroom counter or by the door. After all, most of the time when we travel, we're going to places where we want to wear our makeup. So what do you do?!  Hit up your local Walmart, Target, or drugstore and pick up the 4 items below--crisis averted! Here's what to grab when you leave your makeup behind: Note: I believe the Hard Candy palette is only available at Walmart, but this gives you an idea of what to look for! What to Grab When You Leave Your Makeup Behind
Palette //  Foundation // Mascara // Lip color
1. Hard Candy Eyeshadow Palette - this is an awesome deal for only $8!  The palette has 9 different shades of eyeshadow, an eyeshadow primer, and an eyeliner!  You can't beat the deal.  The eyeshadow has good pigmentation and is a very close dupe to the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette, which is much more expensive.  It also comes with what I consider a throw-away makeup brush, but it will work in a pinch!  This palette is also available in Sultry Eyes (pinks) and Smokey Eyes (purples).
2. L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Foundation- this is my go-to foundation on a daily basis anyways!  It has great coverage, especially if you tend to use a concealer--just apply a little extra foundation to those areas as the coverage is buildable.
3.  L'Oreal Voluminous False Lashes Mascara- once again, this is a go-to in my makeup bag anyways.  This mascara is just as good as some of the more expensive brands in my book!  I love everything from the Voluminous line, but this one is my favorite of them all.
4. L'Oreal Glossy Balm Lip Color- This lip color is a cross between a lip balm and a lip stick, so it's a great combo product.  Also, you may notice that I don't have a blush listed, and that's because this product pulls double duty!  After you've put it on your lips, dab it on the apples of your cheeks and rub in good.  Done!
The best thing about these products is no only do they satisfy your immediate need for quick and cheap makeup, but they're good quality and can be worked into your existing makeup lineup!  So you didn't "waste" any money by picking up cosmetics that you'll never use again:)

High Five For Friday

Hello and Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday Link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie@ Cup of Tea, and myself. Make yourself right at home and please be sure to enjoy your stay.

This week's featured blogger is Kate from Classy Living. Kate is a Christian, wife and an elementary teacher. She loves books and all things chocolate. Kate is also a Zumba Instructor. She has a really great blog that I know you would enjoy reading.

This week has been a good but slow week. It has seemed to slowly drag on by. My favorites from this week are:

1) On Saturday, Justin and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. We celebrated in a very low key way. We visited a car show and ate at one of our favorite steakhouses. It was nice being able to have some alone time and being able to catch up on day to day life.

2) I mentioned last week that I had my hair cut. Well I went back and had it colored. Here is my new do...I opted for a Chocolate Brown color...

3) I have a praise report. God answered a prayer for Justin and I that I had been praying about for quite sometime. God is so good and he deserves so much more praise than what I give him. I fail him everyday but his love for me never fails.

4) I love the many projects that you can do with wood pallets so we decided to get crafty and make a gate for our porch from a pallet. I love it!

5) This has been a good week for lots of goodies in the mail. My dad and I received our delicious Chobani Flips that we won from the #BreakYouMake Campaign. You can read more about that here.

I also received my package from Maurice's. They have their awesome yearly summer sale going on right now both online and in stores. I ordered 8 tops, a pair of pants and a pair of shoes for only $63.60 #winning

I hope you all have a safe and fun filled weekend. May God bless you always!

What's In My Makeup Bag : Eye Essentials

One of my favorite things about makeup is eye makeup. There are so many endless possibilities that you can do with your eyes. You can dress them up or down play them. You can even have a day look and a separate look for a night out on the town. A great thing about eye makeup is that it doesn't have to be costly. Being the budget friendly person that I am, I use a look to define my eyes for all of $25 or less.

1) The very first item on this list is The Nudes Maybelline Palette. I love love love this eye shadow. My budget wouldn't let me afford palettes such as Urban Decay so I settled on The Nudes eye shadow palette. What's great about this is you can create looks just the same if not better than the famous expensive brands. You can create looks from day to night. You can go from deep to light, one color or multi colored eye looks and even the smokey eye look. Like I said, the possibilities are endless.

2) Next I dress my eyes up with a simple Covergirl Brow Shaper and Eyeliner all in one. My color choice is Midnight Black to accentuate my dark brown eyes. I have used this brand for many years. It's affordable and achieves the look that I want. It also is long lasting and doesn't come off easy due to water or tears. I only use this for eyeliner because it is too dark for my eyebrows.

3) Then I apply the No 7 Beautiful Brows pencil to my eyebrows. I use brown because my eyebrows are already pretty dark. Therefore, I definitely don't need black brows. I don't fill in my brows much because like I said, my eyebrows are already dark. This seems to be the best eyebrow pencil that I have ever used. It is also long lasting and doesn't smear like a lot of brow pencils do.

4) Last I use the Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara by Rimmel. I just can't say enough great things about this mascara. I absolutely love it! It actually really does extend your lashes by a great deal. You can see a big change in my lashes when I apply it. My lashes look at least double their size when I use the Lash Accelerator.

So what we have here is a great affordable look that anyone can achieve. Beauty doesn't have to be expensive!

What is your favorite budget friendly eye look?

Maybelline New York The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette $6.76

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara, Black $7.96

Affordable Fashion and Where to Find it.

Recently in the last year, I have found my own style and  I now have a love for fashion. I used to loathe going shopping. I felt like nothing suited me or fit right. With the help of my fabulous friend Tif @ Bright On A Budget and her great fashion sense, I slowly started to love fashion. However, I do not love the price tag that comes along with most clothing nowadays. Being on a tight budget, I'm all for great deals. I truly believe that you can find fashionable pieces of clothing and accessories most anywhere. With that being said,  I am starting a mini blog series of posts on Affordable Fashion and Where to find it.

Enter the Classic Knit Skater Dress in Mint

This mint Skater Dress was found at Rue 21. I have a great love for Rue 21. They usually always have amazing deals and they have a variety of different styles. They have something for everyone's sense of fashion. I feel like this is the type of dress that can be worn almost anywhere. It can be worn to church, on a date or to an event. It is classy and elegant. I dressed it up with a Pink Necklace and matching earrings from Paparazzi jewelry. If you aren't familiar with Paparazzi Jewelry, It's a company that offers most pieces of Jewelry for only $5. This includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets, headbands and so much more. The pink necklace really makes the mint dress stand out. It's the perfect look for Summer. Mint is a color that never goes out of style. I also styled this look with a pair of Black Rampage Peshmina Sandals that are on sale at Peebles/Goody's.

Classic Knit Skater Dress  Similar was $17.99 now on sale for $10
Rampage Peshmina Sandals in Black was $40. Clearance $19.99

This look was achieved for only $42.98. I had to pay full price for the dress but you can find it now on sale.

A cute summer look for less than $50. It's a perfect win for me! What do you think?

High Five For Friday!

Hello and Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday Link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie@ Cup of Tea, Caitlin @ Coffee With Caitlin and myself. Make yourself right at home and please be sure to enjoy your stay.

This week's featured blogger is Saprina @ Saprina Says. Saprina hosts a great beauty and lifestyle blog. She recently had a post titled 5 steps to developing your personal style. I loved this post because  just recently in the last year, I have found my own style. Saprina also has some very uplifting posts. Please check out her blog!

This week has definitely been a better week than the previous week that I had. It has seemed to have flown by but hey I'm not complaining. Here are my favorites from this week.

1) As you can already tell, my blog got a makeover. I love my new blog design. I couldn't be more pleased. If you need a new design, Kreated by Kelsey is your girl. She does a fabulous job and is quick too. She is also very reasonably priced.  Speaking of blogs, I now have my own domain! I am so excited!

2) I decided to get brave and chop my hair off. It feels so much better and it's so much more manageable.

Before...

and after....It's called an asymmetric bob and I love it!

The back is much shorter but I don't have a good picture of it :(

3) It's been a week for birthday's including my father in law's. Yesterday, Raylan and I took him some lunch while Justin was at work and spent most of the day with him.

4)Ordered my phone case in memory of my sweet mother. She fought so hard to live. I pray there is a cure for ovarian cancer and all other cancers one day. Spread awareness everywhere!#ovariancancerawareness #cancersucks #findacure

5) Maurice's has their awesome yearly summer sale going on right now both online and in stores. I ordered 8 tops, 2 pairs of pants and a pair of shoes for $71.17. How awesome is that!

Also please pray for the county next to mine. They had a devastating flood on Monday. 3 lives were lost and several people are still missing. People have lost everything. They need all the prayers they can get. If you want to support them you can click here for a donation. Any and all would be appreciated!

Thanks for stopping by! May God Bless you!

Top 2 Lip Shades For Summer

I used to never be a lip stick, lip gloss kind of girl. I would always wear chapstick and just preferred to go natural. I guess you could say that I just didn't feel comfortable with brighter lip colors. Well recently that all changed and I am so glad it did. Now I love wearing different lip shades! I like to change the colors up for each season. Here are my 2 Favorite Lip Shades For Summer...

I really love the NYX Butter Gloss in Cupcake as shown below

This color just screams Summer! I love that it's not too bright or too dark. It's the perfect shade of hot pink. I like to wear a lot of pink so this is the perfect go to color. The butter gloss goes on so smooth and has a glossy look to it. It doesn't feel heavy on your lips like a lot of lip glosses do,

Now my absolute favorite is Red Velvet NYX Butter Lip Balm as shown here below

If you know me then you know that a red lip color was always out of my comfort zone. I always felt like red never suited me or anything that I wore. I felt like I was too pale for red. All of that changed, when I was introduced to the Red Velvet Butter Lip Balm. I love that it's a color tinted lip balm. After all, lip balm has always been my area of expertise. Now I love red lip color and I wear this most all of the time. I feel like a red lip goes great with anything and it never goes out of style.

Now for me, the brighter the lip the better. The best thing about these are that they seem to last for a while so reapplying isn't a frequent pain.  What are your favorite Summer lip shades?

High Five For Friday

Yay it's Friday! Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday Link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Caitlin @Coffee With Caitlin, Katie @ Cup of Tea and myself. Make yourself right at home and enjoy your stay.

This week's featured blogger is Nicole @ The diary of Nicole Alicia. Nicole loves Photography and Scrapbooking. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, crafting and baking. She had a recent post about London that I really enjoyed. I loved looking at all the photos. Visiting London one day is definitely on my bucket list. Please be sure to check out her blog.

Let's be honest, this week has not been a very good week at all. My precious aunt Janet passed away from a long hard battle with lung cancer. Please say a prayer for our family. Let's get to some good parts  from this week though.

1) While loosing my aunt Janet is the farthest thing from my favorites,  I'm choosing to honor my aunt Janet and the wonderful Christian woman that she was. I know that she is suffering no more and that she is in a much better place, but I will still miss her so very much.

2) I was contacted by Chobani Greek Yogurt and learned that I was selected as a winner for the #BreakYouMake Campaign. You can read more about it on my blog post here. I am ecstatic!

3) We finally had our mini vacation over the 4th of July Holiday weekend. It was a much needed getaway. Raylan was sure amazed by all of the sights, especially the aquarium.

4) I am happy to report that I am all signed up for classes and will be starting the Bachelor's Program in Elementary Education this fall if it's the Lord's will.

5) I have been toying with the idea of cutting my hair again and going for a different style. What do you think, should I go back to short or stick with my current long style? I can't decide which suits me best.

Thanks for linking up! Have a blessed weekend!

This week's featured blogger is Brenda from Chatting Over Chocolate. Brenda has become a great friend of mine through blogging. She is just the sweetest person you will ever meet. She blogs about a variety of things from recipes to beauty. I love her recent post comparing different eye shadows from her June Favorites edition. Be sure to stop by her blog and say hello.

This week has been a fairly good week. My husband has been on vacation. We haven't done much though. It's been kind of low key and relaxing which has been much needed. However, we are planning a little getaway for the 4th and I'm so excited. Here are my favorites from this past week.

1) We decided to do our own 4th of July mini session right here at home of Raylan. I thought the photos of him turned out really well. What do you think?

2) Justin and I sat down and made our Toddler Bucket List of fun things we wanted to do with Raylan this Summer. You can read our Bucket List here

3) This was the first year that we have ever attempted to grow a garden. So far this is what we have, not too bad I don't think.

.
4) While we are talking about fresh garden produce, Raylan loves a good piece of Watermelon. I wish I would have grown Watermelon's for him. That's definitely on my list for next year.

5) We managed to get a play date in this week. I think it's so cute how Raylan and his little friend are always side by side. They play so well together which makes my heart smile.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope everyone has a safe and fantastic Independence Day Weekend. God Bless You!
