We Still Write Love Notes
Monday, June 6, 2016
In this day and time, marriages don't seem to last very long at all. People have forgotten the importance of God and marriage. People don't seem to honor God or their marriages anymore. However we still want to honor both God and our marriage so We Still Write Love Notes..
Justin and I have been together for almost 12 years and married for almost 7. We were high school sweethearts. We have grown up together. Some marriages drift apart after a few years. People change and circumstances change but you don't have to let it happen to your marriage. We still try to find ways to show one another that we love each other and try to keep our marriage alive. One of those ways is by writing love notes.
Every day before my husband goes to work, he has a small post it note stuck to his wallet. I want him to know that I always think of him. I want that to be the start to a great day for him. I try to encourage and lift Justin up. I want Justin to know that I love him and that I'm praying for him. Some examples that I have written are...
"Have a Wonderful day! Thank you for all that you do for Raylan and I! We love and appreciate you. Be safe. I love you!"
"I just want you to know that I love you and I'm praying for you. Have a great day. Love you!"
"I'm proud to be your wife. Be careful. I love You!"
Sometimes I will leave Justin some bible verses or a prayer, especially when he is going through a tough time. This always encourages him.
and even when I am upset with him, I still write him love notes. No matter how angry I may be, I still want him to know that I love him. So on days that I am upset, a love note might be short and simple and say something like..."Be Safe. I love You!" Ephesians 4:26 says "Be ye angry, and sin not."
He also writes me love notes. He doesn't write them as often as I do, but he still writes them. He usually leaves me a note once a week and this always brightens my day. It's nice to know that you are being thought about. By the way, I still have my very first love note that Justin ever wrote me.
Love notes are simple ways to show your spouse that you love them. In this day and time, everything is so hectic and it seems people never have enough time to spend with one another. People have jobs, children to tend to and other obligations, but you don't have to forget about your spouse. Find little ways to show your spouse that you love them and are thinking about them. Show them how much they mean to you. We look forward to our love notes. I'm so thankful that we have stuck with the tradition of writing love notes.
Take time today to show your spouse that you love them. Love notes are easy and they only take a second to write. Who knows, it could start a spark in your marriage and get it going again.
“Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)
