My whole family loves Snow Cones. In fact, there is nothing better on a hot summer day than a nice cold snow cone to cool you down. We used to get several over the summer but that ran into money. We are saving money by making our own and now we get to enjoy delicious snow cones all summer long.
We purchased this Rival Blizzard Ice Shaver from Walmart and we've been making snow cones ever since. You can also purchase snow cone syrup from Walmart but I like this homemade recipe so much better and it's cheaper too.
What you will need:
I always make several batches of different flavors just to have on hand, but if you want to make one single batch. You will need:
1 pack of Kool-Aid or Flavor-Aid
2 Cups of Sugar
1 Cup of Water
Boil Sugar and Water together for 1 minute then take off of heat. Immediately stir in Kool-Aid. Let it cool down and then pour into a container of your choice. Let it set for a few hours before using in ice so that it has thickened to a good syrup.
Double the recipe for a double batch!
If you don't have a snow cone maker, you can always use a blender or an ice crusher.
These snow cones are packed with flavor and are so delicious. They are a big hit with everyone especially my son Raylan.
My husband says they taste just as good if not better than the ones you typically buy at Snow Cone Stands. It's the perfect treat for Summer and you will save a lot of money making your own. You can also make these in slushy form too. You will love them!
Can you make this snow cone syrup recipe in advance? If so how far ahead in advance?
