High Five For Friday

Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie @ Cup of TeaBecky @ BYBMG   and myself. We're glad you're here! High Five for Friday is where we come together to share five highlights or five favorite things from the past week each Friday.

Happy Good Friday and Easter! He is Risen!

1) Raylan and his friends got to see the Easter Bunny at Story Time this week. They had the cutest little Easter Party and also hunted eggs. Raylan said it was the best party ever! I'm so glad that he wasn't afraid of the bunny this year.

2) We had a big Spring Snow on Saturday. We had probably around 4 inches. It was so beautiful but it sure was scary to be out on. Snow is pretty to look at, but I hope this is the last snow that we get. I'm more than ready for warmer temperatures.

3) I had my hair cut and colored. I cut about 4 inches off and went for a reddish brown color with beige blonde peekaboo highlights. I was way overdue for fresh color. I love it! It's perfect for Spring!

4) Speaking of Spring, I have put together my Spring Bucket List. You can read it here on the blog. Have you made a list yet?

5) My hairdresser gave me a recipe for Olive Garden Chicken, so of course I gave it a try! I love anything from Olive Garden. It was so delicious! You have to try it. It was a big hit with the husband. You can grab the recipe here.

Spring Bucket List

I am so excited that Spring is officially here. It seems like we have been waiting on warm weather forever. Kentucky weather has teased us with a few warm days here and there, but I'm ready for warmer temperatures for good. I'm ready to get out and enjoy the beautiful sunny days and break free from Winter Cabin Fever. So with that being said, here is our family Bucket List for Spring. Let all of the fun activities begin!

What is on your Spring Bucket List?

Makeup Must-Haves for Spring 2018

I have always loved makeup! I have worn it since middle school, but just stuck to the basics. However, I have stepped up my makeup game within the last couple of years. I used to never wear lipstick or do anything to my eyebrows, now I can't go without lipstick. I guess you could say that the older I get, the more I step out of my comfort zone when it comes to makeup.  I still don't do the contouring or highlighting, but I think I still wear a good amount with a full coverage look. I love changing my look up with each season, especially my eyeshadow and lip colors. So now that Spring is officially here, I'm sharing with you my makeup must-haves that will brighten up your look and have you ready for those beautiful sunny days.  These are all the products that I am currently wearing this spring.

3) Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette (By Far My Favorite Palette!)
6) Milani Baked Powder Blush (shade Luminoso)
7) Lipsense - (Bombshell and Peace Pink Shades are perfect for Spring)

Do you change your look up with the seasons? What are your favorite makeup products for Spring?

Today I'm linking up with my friends over at The Blended Blog for their "All About Makeup" Beauty Edition.

1) Raylan and his friend Jake had their first trip to Chuck E. Cheese and they had the best time! Chuck E. Cheese is about an hour and a half drive from where we live, but it was so worth the drive just to watch them play and have such a good time.

2) I got to meet Tif from Bright on a Budget's sweet baby Karoline. She is beautiful and oh so precious. I can already tell that she is going to be a little Fashionista just like her momma. I can't wait for more baby snuggles when they come back in.

3) Once again, Kentucky weather has been crazy. I was able to wash my car and decorate outside for Spring on Monday, but on Tuesday it was cold and snowy. Not a good way to kickoff the first day of Spring.

4) Now that it is actually Spring, I can't wait to get started on my Spring Bucket List.  I just wish it would hurry and warm up so we could enjoy it.  However, more snow is in the forecast for this weekend. I hope Easter is warm next weekend.

5) I'm getting my hair done today and I'm so excited. It's been way too long since I've been pampered. What should I get done to my hair? I'd like to do something different for spring.

Favorite Hair Care Products & Tips

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today I'm sharing my favorite hair care tips and products with you. I'm also linking up with my wonderful friends from The Blended Blog, so don't forget to stop by and say hello to them. My favorite hair products are listed with links below.

From time to time, I like to switch up my shampoo and conditioners. These two below are my second favorites that I use when I switch up.

If you can't already tell from products above, I use volumizing products. I have very fine and oily hair so volumizing products are a must. Even though I have oily hair, I do not wash my hair everyday. Washing your hair everyday is really hard on your hair, especially for thin hair like mine. I try to wash it every 3-4 days. I have found that the Aquage Uplifting foam has really helped with volume and the more volume I have, the less I have to wash my hair. When my hair lays flat on my head it tends to get oily quickly. I also use dry shampoo when my hair is getting oily on the last day before washing again. Dry Shampoo is also great for adding back volume to limp hair.

I also sleep with my hair up in a loose bun. Laying on my hair at night makes it flat and oily. I have also found that if I curl my hair instead of straightening it, I have more volume and my hair doesn't get oily nearly as fast.

Last but not least, I only have my hair colored or highlighted about 3 times a year. My awesome hair stylist Ginger does peekaboo highlights  and doesn't color the part of my hair so that the regrowth is not nearly as bad. I am due for new highlights and color but my hair still looks fresh from when I had it done back in the fall. It hasn't faded and you can't even tell that I have regrowth. Ginger really is awesome! My hair has grown so much and has gotten so much healthier since I've been going to her these last two years.

I would love to hear from you! What are your favorite hair products and tips?

High Five For Friday

Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie @ Cup of TeaBecky @ BYBMG   and myself. We're glad you're here! High Five for Friday is where we come together to share five highlights or five favorite things from the past week each Friday.

1) Raylan has been very sick for the last week. Thankfully he is on the mend now. He was finally able to enjoy a day at Story Time this week with his friends.  They had the cutest little St. Patrick's Day Party. Look how adorable he is in the St. Patrick's Day hat!

2) We had a decent amount of snow this week which was very unexpected. We had probably 3-4 inches. Snow is beautiful but I am more than ready for Spring.

3) I had my first ever trip to Rural King this week and I must say that I love that store. I fell in love with their porch furniture and Raylan fell in love with the baby chicks. He wanted to bring them all home with him. He also loved the fact that you get free popcorn there with every visit.

4) Since Spring is so close, I have been pinning and planning overboard. Does anyone else feel the urge to want to redecorate when warmer weather is near?

5) Today I take my math portion of the Praxis Exam for the teaching program. All of your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

6 Must-Have Skin Care Essentials

Happy Monday Friends! I hope you had a great weekend! Today I'm linking up with my lovely friends from The Blended Blog and talking about Skin Care.

My skin is usually always dry, but during the Winter months it tends to be much worse. It gets so bad that my hands get severely dry and cracked. Often times my hands get so bad that they bleed. My lips get chapped and my feet also tend to get dry and cracked. It's miserable and oh so painful. So in order to survive the harshness of Winter, I turn to 6 of my favorite skin care must-haves.

1) Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash
2) Eucerin Original Healing Soothing Repair Lotion
3) Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Lip Balm
4) Vaseline Intensive Care Hand Cream
5) Avon Foot Works Healthy Intensive Moisture Foot Cream
6) Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief or Recharge Body Butter.

I use the body wash, Eucerin Repair Lotion and Lip Balm on a daily basis. I also use the Eucerin Repair Lotion as a moisturizer for my face. I use the hand and foot cream on an as needed basis when my hands and feet tend to be extra dry. I love love love the Aromatherapy Stress Relief Body Butter by Bath and Body Works. It is probably my favorite!  It is perfect to use on those very stressful days that all moms have from time to time. The great thing is that it really does help to relieve some of the stress and gives you a sense of relaxation. I also like the Recharge Body Butter by Bath and Body Works.

These 6 Skin Care Essentials are tried and true and have became Must-Haves for me. I use them not only during the winter, but all year long.  What Skin Care Essentials are Must-Haves for you?

High Five For Friday: 4th Birthday Party

Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie @ Cup of TeaBecky @ BYBMG   and myself. We're glad you're here! High Five for Friday is where we come together to share five highlights or five favorite things from the past week each Friday.

1) On Saturday, we had Raylan's 4th Birthday Party. He wanted a Disney Car's theme and it turned out so cute. Raylan and his little friends all had a great time. I love seeing my baby laugh and have such a good time with other kids. I still can't believe that I have a 4 year old!

2) Raylan finally has a new car seat. He had been needing one for a while, so we decided to get him a 5 point Harness Booster Seat. It is much more comfortable for my big 4 year old.

3) I've been attempting to organize all of the toys that Raylan got from his birthday party this week. That's been a huge job lol! I took an over the door shoe organizer and turned it into an organizer for transformers, darts and dart guns. It was a pretty neat idea if I do say so myself.

4) I've started a new Bible plan called A Jolt of Joy. It is such a wonderful plan! It really does make a person realize that we have so much to be thankful for no matter the circumstances and that things could always be worse.  Do any of you read bible plans from the YouVersion Bible App? I love that app!

5) Raylan and I have been under the weather for the last few days. I hate that we have both been so sick, but I have gotten quite a bit of snuggles from my little guy. Snuggles are rare these days, so I'll take them any chance I can get them. I wish I could keep him little forever. The older he gets the less hugs and kisses I get. It breaks this momma's heart.

1) This has been another crazy weather week for Kentucky. We have had a few gorgeous days and now it is cold. Anyway, on the beautiful days Raylan decided he was going to make good use of the weather and jump in some muddy puddles. He had a blast even though he fell and was covered in mud from head to toe. Raising little boys is so much fun, but a very dirty job lol.

2) I have been doing tutoring sessions for the Praxis Exam and they seem to be helping. I take the exam March 16th so please say a prayer for me.

3) Raylan and I visited my friend Tina's church during the revival they had this week. It was a wonderful spirit filled service and exactly what my soul needed. There is nothing like a great church service.

4) Justin and I have been car shopping this week. My vehicle had been torn up since before Christmas. It was going to cost too much to fix it, so I'm happy to report that last night I finally found a vehicle. I am now the proud owner of a new to me Kia Forte. I am so thankful that God blessed us to be able to get another vehicle. God is so good!

5) Raylan's 4th Birthday Party is tomorrow and we are just so excited to party. Now let all the baking begin today!

This week's featured blogger is our very own Tif from Bright on a Budget. Tif had her sweet little baby girl named Karoline Grace yesterday. Both momma and baby girl are going wonderful. Let's all congratulate Tif on her new baby girl!
