High Five For Friday

Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie @ Cup of TeaBecky @ BYBMG   and myself. We're glad you're here! High Five for Friday is where we come together to share five highlights or five favorite things from the past week each Friday.

1) Last weekend, Justin was out of town so I got a babysitter and had a little me time. I ended up at Hobby Lobby and found some gorgeous things for my house. A trip to hobby lobby always cheers this girl up. I also found some things at the dollar tree, so I was a happy camper.

2) I also was able to catch up on some of my favorite TV shows while I had a little time to myself. I love my little family but a little time for yourself is always a good thing. It was definitely much needed for this momma.

3) This week has been rainy and cold, but the weekend was gorgeous. I was able to get out and photograph some beautiful nature photos. Spring in Kentucky is absolutely gorgeous.

4) I've been doing a few projects inside the home this Spring. Something about Spring always has me wanting to redecorate and organize. I love it when a Pinterest project comes to life. What did we ever do before Pinterest?

5) I've also done a little flower gardening this week. I planted 2 rose bushes. I love roses and they seem to be the only thing I can get to grow since I don't have a green thumb at all.

This week's featured blogger is Meg from My Monochromatic Life. Meg is a Wife, Dog Mom and Therapist. She blogs about fashion trends, makeup tips, home decor and local activities. I love her sense of Fashion! Please stop by and say hello to Meg!

Spring in Kentucky

Spring has had a late start in Eastern Kentucky, but I feel like it is finally here. This makes my little heart oh so happy. I love all of the beautiful colors and especially the warm weather. The Sunshine and vibrant colors are good for the soul. My favorite things to do during Spring is enjoy coffee on my front porch in the mornings, go for long walks, drive around to see all of the beautiful scenery, and take my son Raylan to the Park. I also love to photograph all of the beautiful flowers, trees and birds that Springtime brings. These are just a few snapshots of what Spring looks like in Eastern Kentucky. I do apologize if the quality is a bit fuzzy on some, that is due to taking a quick photo with my phone.  At any rate, Spring is absolutely gorgeous in Kentucky! What does Spring look like where you are from?

I'm linking up with my friends from The Blended Blog to bring you this Spring Edition.

1) Last Friday was such a beautiful day, so we enjoyed a picnic and played at the beautiful Paintsville Lake State Park. It was much deserved for Raylan since he had his 4 year shots the day before.

2) Saturday, my little family attended opening day for the race season. Race Season has officially begun for the Preston Family. I can't wait to watch Justin race and cheer him on this year!

3) Tuesday, Raylan and all of his Story Time friends had a pinwheel ceremony at Story Time. They planted pinwheels on the lawn of the library for Child Abuse Awareness Month.

4) This week was full of crazy weather and delicious homemade foods. On the cold days I made Veggie Soup and on the warm days I made Fruit Pizzas and Grilled hot dogs. Kentucky Weather is so confusing this Spring.

5) Have you started your Spring Cleaning yet? I have started on mine. I have a Spring Cleaning Checklist up on the blog. You can read it here. It will give you some motivation to start cleaning if you haven't already.

Spring Pattern Mixing

Even though Spring has been here almost a month, it definitely hasn't felt like Spring. In fact, it feels more like Winter in Eastern Kentucky. However, I'm not letting this cold weather kill my vibe. It may be cold, but I can still dress in beautiful bright colors. I try to bring a little sunshine to such cold days with my outfits. I'm loving this yellow and white plaid cardigan mixed with this black and white striped tank. The colors and pattern mixing remind me of sunshine on dark and gloomy days, hence the "You are my Sunshine Song." I felt like jeans was the perfect contrast for this look to keep from having too much of the same colors, but I continued with yellow and black colors for the shoes and accessories.

Do you like to Pattern Mix for Spring? What outfits do you like to wear to make it feel more like Spring on Cold Days? I love bright colors! The brighter the better!

Spring Cleaning Checklist

Even though it doesn't feel like Spring here in Kentucky, it's time to get myself motivated and begin my spring cleaning. One day it's warm and the next day it's cold. Today they are forecasting snow showers, but I know the cold can't last forever. With that being said,  I have put together a Spring Cleaning Checklist to start on so that I can get my cleaning done and out of the way. I want to be able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and warm sunshine without having to worry about what needs to be done inside.  Cleaning can be so overwhelming, so I prefer checklists like this to help keep me on track. Hopefully this checklist will help motivate you too and give you a sense of where to begin on what to clean. Happy Spring Everyone!

Today I'm linking up with my friends from The Blended Blog for the Spring Cleaning Edition. Don't forget to stop by and see what tips they have for you as well.

Hooray! I'm glad it's finally Friday! This has been such a busy week and a rough week which included an ear infection for me and Raylan had his 4 year old shots. I sure hope next week is better. Let's get to my favorites from this week...

1) Last weekend was cold and snowy, so my little family stayed home and ate some delicious homemade Veggie Soup. I love a good hot soup or chili on cold snow days. It's so comforting!

2) While being stuck inside all weekend from the snow and my ear infection, Justin and I started watching Riverdale on Netflix. It's so hard to find a new show that we actually like, but we like this one. Have you watched it? Do you have any Netflix recommendations?

3) My single Red Tulip is out in full bloom and beautiful birds have been to the bird feeder several times a day. It gives my heart hope that Spring is almost here for good. I'm so over this cold weather. They are forecasting snow again for Monday, but I know this cold weather can't last forever.

4) Raylan had his 4 year old shots and did so well with them, so that called for a treat. I took him out on an ice cream date after the shots.  He was a happy camper then.

5) I'm in search for a new book to read. What is everyone reading lately?

High Five For Friday- Easter Recap

Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Katie @ Cup of TeaBecky @ BYBMG   and myself. We're glad you're here! High Five for Friday is where we come together to share five highlights or five favorite things from the past week each Friday.

1) Saturday, our church had an Easter party for all of the kids. It consisted of Pizza, Easter Baskets for the kids, Inflatables and an Egg Hunt. It was so much fun! Raylan had a blast, especially on the inflatables.

2) We colored Eggs at my dad's house and had a delicious Turkey Dinner on Saturday before the church Easter Party.

3) Easter Sunday was so wonderful. We are so very blessed to have a savior who loved us enough to die on the cross and rise again so that we could have eternal life in a heavenly home. Sunday was extra special because Justin went to church with Raylan and I. Let's all pray that he continues to go with us.

4) Sunday evening consisted of two egg hunts. One at my dad's house and one at Justin's parents house. It also consisted of yummy food too. The diet has definitely been blown this week lol.

5) I snagged me two pairs of cute Bermuda shorts  for Spring at Goodwill this week. I also thrifted me an adorable purse.  Who else loves thrift stores?
