Why I Begin Celebrating Christmas Before Thanksgiving: H54F

If you know me at all, then you know how much I love Christmas. I get so giddy when Christmas time is near. I'm such a big kid at heart. When I was a little girl, my mom would always put our Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving. However, now that I have a family of my own I like to have our own traditions. Yes, I put my Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving. Why? Because it brings me joy and my 4 year old son joy too. I love the sense of peace and happiness that Christmas brings. There is also something so relaxing about sitting near the Christmas tree curled up with your favorite book or watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. I love having all of the lights turned off in the house with only the glow of the Christmas lights shining. Having our Christmas tree up reminds me to take a step back to relax and to remember the real reason for the Christmas Season.  If it wasn't for the birth of Jesus, we wouldn't even be celebrating Christmas. Jesus is the true reason for the Christmas season. Christmas is also a time of togetherness and it just makes you feel more close to your family and friends. I love Thanksgiving but to me Christmas is more important. As a Christian, I am most thankful for my salvation and that comes from Jesus Christ. I don't forget about Thanksgiving at all. I celebrate it and always remember to give thanks. However, Christmas is also a time we should give thanks that Jesus was born to save the world. So therefore, I put my tree up early. I enjoy all of the beautiful decorations and I still enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. I can enjoy my Turkey around my Christmas tree,  Now that I work and Raylan is in school, we are not home as much to enjoy our Christmas decor. There is a ton of work that goes into decorating for Christmas, so why not put your decor up earlier so that you can enjoy it longer. Christmas brings me peace, happiness and Joy. I can celebrate the two holidays together just fine and I can give thanks during both holidays. And for the record, I do not get tired of looking at my Christmas tree or all of my decor.
