H54F: Christmas Recap

Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Becky @ BYBMG, Whitney @ Come Home For Comfort, Whitney @ Polka Dotty Place  and myself. We're glad you're here! High Five for Friday is where we come together to share five highlights or five favorite things from the past week each Friday.

1) We attended a Christmas play at my friend Tina's church. It was the best play that I have seen in a long time. It was called Jesus Vs. Santa. It truly displayed the true meaning of Christmas which is the birth of Christ all while still allowing children to enjoy Santa. All of the cast members worked so hard. It was such a good play. We loved it!

2) I made more than 20 dozen Christmas cookies for Christmas Gifts for Family, friends, teachers, and church members. I love baking gifts to brighten spirits, but I am exhausted. I don't want to see anymore cookies for a while lol.

3) We had a low key Christmas Eve, which was the first one in a very long time. Normally we are going from house to house, but that all was saved for Christmas Day. I am very thankful for the low-key Christmas Eve. It allowed Justin and I to truly enjoy Christmas Eve with Raylan. We read the Christmas Story about the birth of Jesus, Sprinkled Magic Reindeer dust, left carrots for the reindeer and Cookies & Milk for Santa. It wasn't a rushed day and it was so much more enjoyable just getting to make memories with my own little family.

4) Christmas Day started out bright and early when Raylan decided to wake up at 5:45am to see what Santa had left him. He was so excited to see what he had gotten from Santa. All of my hard work on Black Friday was certainly worth it to see the huge smile on his face. We always have 2 gifts and a stocking from Santa and tell him the rest are from mommy and daddy. This post by Tif from Bright on a Budget is a perfect explanation as to why we do this.

5) Christmas was a busy yet wonderful day. We enjoyed precious family time with my side of the family and Justin's. We enjoyed delicious food and watching all of the children have fun. I also did my very best to make sure Raylan knew the true meaning of Christmas. I never want him to forget that it's because of the birth of Jesus that we celebrate such a fun day in the first place. Christmas night was spent relaxing by the Christmas tree watching our favorite which is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It never gets old! It truly was a wonderful Christmas. We are very blessed!

That's a wrap for my Christmas week. How was your Christmas?
