I loved this haircut! Every time I go back, I get a trim and have asked my stylist to go a little shorter each time.
It is so easy to maintain and does not get nearly as oily. When my hair was long, I had to wash it almost every single day. Washing my hair every single day was way too much work, it literally wore me out to have to fight with it every morning. Now I only have to was my hair every 3-4 days which has made my life so much easier now that I work part-time and my son is in school. Who has time on busy mornings to wash their hair every day?
Below is a photo of the necessities that I currently use for Short Hair
2) TRESemme' Color Revitalize Conditioner ( I only use a dime sized amount on the ends of my hair with every wash.)
3) John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength 6 Effects Serum (My hair is naturally wavy and gets very frizzy, so I have to use less than a dime sized amount after each wash and dry.)
Like I said before, I only wash my hair every 3-4 days. I use both TRESemme' Color Revitalize Shampoo and Conditioner. I then dry my hair on low heat with a hair dryer. Next, I use the Flat Iron and straighten it in 3 different sections. I straighten the bottom, middle, and then top. I use the least amount of heat as possible. I try to keep the flat iron between 330-350 degrees. When I use less heat, my hair doesn't get nearly as damaged nor does it get nearly as oily. After my hair is straightened, I then tease my hair using the Tease and Lift Comb. I hold my hair straight up and tease from mid length of my hair down to the root exactly 3 times and then spray it with hairspray. Finally, I only use the dry shampoo if my hair really needs it. However, the dry shampoo does give my hair extra volume. My favorite trick is using dry shampoo at night before I go to bed because I'm bad to sweat in my sleep, thus causing oily hair.
I try to put half of my hair up into a ponytail or at least what will go up, before I go to bed. This ensures my hair isn't moving all over the place at night and getting more oily. It also helps with bed head of the mornings.
On the days I don't wash my hair, I use a shower cap in the shower. I flat iron the pieces that need it and I use my teasing comb to pick it out and tease it more. I try not to use much hairspray on the days that I don't wash, but sometimes I have to.
The best trick to maintaining this Inverted Stacked Bob hairstyle is going in for a trim every 4-6 weeks.
Below are a few photos of how the stacked look gives me volume.
My hair is no longer unhealthy, limp and oily. I have volume and that has given me confidence. I hear people say all the time that their hair would never fix like mine and that their hair is too fine. My hair is really fine, but this short hair style makes it look 10 times more thicker than it did when it was long. I love the stacked look because it created so much more volume. So if your hair is fine, go for this cut! You can pull this style off, Trust me!
I would love to hear from you! How do you maintain your hair?
Hairstylist is Ginger Stacy from Le-Rose Hair Salon & Tanning.
I LOVE your short hair! I'm the same way, I find that shorter hair is so much easier to maintain and manage. My favorite hairspray is suddenly unavailable everywhere I look, so I'm on the hunt for a new one. I considered that L'Oreal one but haven't tried it - I'm glad to know you like it!
