7 Scriptures to Remember during Easter

Every year when Easter is near, I get very emotional.  The Easter story recounts the death and resurrection of Jesus so that we could have forgiveness of our sins and spend eternity in heaven. The Easter Story also presents the end of his life, the painful details of his suffering on the cross, and the resurrection on that third and glorious day. Easter isn't a story about a bunny rabbit that brings a basket full of goodies, It's a story of true love with the gift of Salvation that Jesus brings. So as Easter approaches, prepare your heart with these 7 Scriptures. They show what the true love of God is all about.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 12:23-25

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Matthew 17:22-23

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:

And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

Matthew 27:33-37

And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
 And sitting down they watched him there;
And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews.

Luke 23:44-47

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

Mark 15:46-47

And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.
And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid

Mark 16:5-7

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

Happy Easter Everyone! The gift of Salvation is far better than any Easter Basket we could ever receive. Isn't God's love Amazing! Please make room for Jesus in your heart this Easter.
