High Five For Friday - Della Devoted

High Five For Friday

Welcome to the weekly High Five For Friday link-up hosted by Tif @ Bright On A Budget, Becky @ BYBMG, Whitney @ Come Home For Comfort, Whitney @ Polka Dotty Place  and myself. We're glad you're here! High Five for Friday is where we come together to share five highlights or five favorite things from the past week each Friday.

1) In the photo above, Farmer Raylan planted and harvested his very own onions all by himself. I think he did an awesome job. I'm so proud of him!

2) The above photo means so much to me. In this photo you see Raylan, my dad, my brother and myself. I took my dad out to Golden Corral for breakfast for Father's Day. What you don't see is the struggle that my dad has had the last couple of years. Shortly after he began Kidney Dialysis, he lost strength in his legs and has been unable to walk. We had a long process with the insurance companies just to get him a wheel chair. They finally got him a battery powered wheel chair, but he had no way to transport it in is car. So he was limited to the places he could go. He could use the power chair to get out of his house and to the car, but that was it. When we would take him to dialysis and doctor appointments, we would have to use wheel chairs from there to get him in and out. Last week, one of his best friends blessed him with a push wheel chair. It was a wheel chair that he could keep in the trunk of his car and take with him everywhere. It had been two years since he had been inside of a restaurant, but that all changed last week. He had been wanting breakfast from Golden Corral for a very long time, and he was finally able to go inside and enjoy himself. That meant so much to me just to see him be able to do things that he had to go so long without being able to do. We take so many things for granted when really we should be thankful for everything that God blesses us to be able to do. God is so good!

3) We discovered a beautiful new park this week after a doctors appointment.  Raylan was able to enjoy a morning out in the park in between the rain even if it was pretty muddy. We both ended up getting  muddy, but it was worth it for the fun memories.

4) I also tried a new coffee place this week. If you are ever in Ashland, Ky, you must try out Pour House Coffee. It is so good!

5) It has rained every single day this week. Raylan was about to go stir crazy, so I finally just let him go play in the rain. I'm so glad I captured this photo of him splashing in the mud. He was having the time of his life. Look how happy he was just having simple fun!

That’s a wrap for my week. How was your week? I hope it was great!
