Classic Vanilla Fudge - Della Devoted

Classic Vanilla Fudge

I've been in the Christmas Baking Spirit for about two weeks now. I've been pulling out all of my recipes, doing trial batches and trying to decide what I want to make for Christmas Gifts. I always make my friends cookies and candy for gifts, so this year I'm adding this Classic Vanilla Fudge to my list of things to make. It's a favorite of mine that I think everyone is sure to love.

I've been having my husband be my taste tester and he has approved of my Vanilla Fudge. He is very picky with all foods, so it must be good if he approves.

1 stick of butter
2 cups of sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 package (12 ounces) white baking chips
1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow creme
1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Using a 9x13 pan, take a stick of butter and rub all inside pan so that fudge won't stick You don't have to use very much butter at all.

In a heavy sauce pan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, and stick of butter; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 3-4 minutes, while stirring constantly. Bring to a very low heat; stir in white baking chips, marshmallow cream and vanilla until melted. Then spread into a pan and let sit for about an hour until firm.

What I love about this fudge is that it's creamy and not too rich. A lot of  vanilla fudges can be too rich, but not this recipe. It has just the right amount of vanilla and sugar.

If you make Christmas goodies for everyone, I hope you add this Classic Vanilla Fudge to your list. It will be a great Christmas gift for all.
