Why I Don't Obsess Over A Spotless Home

My home is not spotless by any means. You certainly can't eat off of my floors and I'm okay with that. I don't obsess over a spotless home and here is why.
Like I said, my house isn't spotless but it's also not filthy. I do clean it but I don't panic when something is dirty or out of place. The reason why is that our house is lived in and we make memories here. I'm not trying to impress someone with a perfect home and a perfect life which I certainly don't have. I am a wife and a mom of a messy little 6 year old boy. However, I can't blame my house on my two guys that live here. I was never a clean freak before marriage or before having my son. There are tons of other things that I would rather be doing than spending all day cleaning.
Now that I am a mom, I would much rather be outside on a beautiful day making memories with my son. Life is short so why not enjoy it. There have been so many days that I have put off my to do list just so that I could go on a bike ride with my son, blow bubbles, go on a nature hike, swim or anything else that my son wanted to do that day. The way that I see it, the house work can wait. The home will still be here but my son won't always be little. He won't always want me to play with him. When he is older and I'm not as cool to him, maybe I will worry more about a spotless house.
I try to tidy up a little each day and make sure the necessary things gets cleaned, but I don't stress myself out over everything. I just don't want to spend all day cleaning. I have a family to love and spend time with.
My house isn't dirty, but toys are on the floor. Sometimes the dishes and laundry doesn't get done but I'm okay with that. If you come to visit our little family, just know that we live here. This is our little humble abode and it's our comfort zone. It's a place where we can relax and be ourselves when the world tries to tell us how we should and should not do things.
