Strawberry Poke Cake

We have all tried some type of poke cake at least once in our lives. After all, there are several different types of cakes that can be poke cakes. If you haven't tried one, then you certainly are missing out. I have tried all kinds, but my most favorite is this delicious Strawberry Poke Cake.

This isn't your typical poke cake. It is so moist and full of flavor. There is one secret ingredient that makes this cake so delicious. Keep reading to find out what it is.

1 Box Strawberry Cake Mix
1-8oz Container of Cool Whip
1 Carton of Strawberries diced up
3 Eggs
1/2 Cup of Oil
1 Cup of Water
1-22 oz bottle of Hershey's Strawberry Syrup (*Secret Ingredient) 

Mix Cake mix according to directions and bake on 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. As soon as the cake comes out of the oven, poke holes all in it. Then pour about a half of bottle of Strawberry Syrup all over cake while it is still hot. 

While cake is cooling, mix the other half of syrup bottle in with strawberries. Be sure to stir the strawberries good so that the syrup can soak into them well. Once cake has completely cooled, top it with cool whip. Then add strawberries and syrup mixture. Be sure to drain the syrup off of the strawberries before adding to cool whip. Otherwise, cake will get soggy. 

Enjoy immediately or refrigerate and enjoy later.

This cake is absolutely delicious. It's so moist and full of flavor. It's sure to be a crowd pleaser. I can't wait to make it again. It's a great cake to make for church dinners or for any occasion. It's the perfect summer dessert!
